Very close to being perfected, the autonomous technologies have become increasingly presents on many models. Even so, the driver is still driving, paying attention to the road that runs in front.

The Swiss from Rinspeed want to change this philosophy and presents at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show the XchangE concept, a 100% electric prototype that puts man in the center of the idea of autonomous car, literally and figuratively.

Everything starts from seats inspired from the business class cabins of the planes in the fleet of the major airlines. Developed in collaboration with specialists in medical prosthetic, the chairs offer 20 positions that adapt to the constitution of every passenger. The Swiss propose an ultra-tech steering wheel that slides over board, with fingerprint recognition and multifunction controls.

The infotainment system is developed by Harman and offers navigation, assistance and various useful services. In addition to the 1.2 meters integrated display, there is also a 32-inch gesture control screen with 4K UHD resolution. Practically, one interior turns into a living room, a cinema room, an office or a bedroom, depending on the requirements and needs of the passengers.

Another important aspect is the connectivity with the environment and with the other cars involved in traffic, thing achieved through the implementation of the system Car2X Communication, controlled through the interface of the Infotainment system. Based on Tesla Model S, the prototype features a set of 20-inch wheels made of alloy, but the Rinspeed officials don’t offer, for now,  any technical details related to the electric propulsion system, which could be the same offered by the electric of Elon Musk.
