What to Eat to Cure Insomnia

We all know how important is a good night’s sleep and how hard we sometimes manage to rest. The proper nutrition is one of the secrets of a restful night.

According to a study conducted by scientists at the University of Pennsylvania, the ideal bedtime snack is a glass of milk and a handful of Brazilian nuts.

What to Eat to Cure Insomnia

Milk is rich in calcium and the Brazil nuts are rich in selenium and potassium. The combination of these delicious snacks provides the body with everything it needs to be able to relax and rest.

The study author, the doctor Michael Grandner, says that this discovery shows that there is a natural and effective treatment for sleep problems.

Of course, to get rid of insomnia, an evening snack before bed is not enough, but it is also needed a healthy lifestyle and a lot of exercise.

Thus, if at bedtime we drink milk and we consume products rich in selenium, the risk of insomnia is reduced by approximately 20%.

The potassium consumption reduces fatigue and drowsiness the next day. Sleep is seriously affected if we eat fats such as butter or cheese or salted products.
