An amusement park in Kansas City announced that it will inaugurate the tallest waterslide in the world, called Verruckt.
Currently, Insano (41 meters) within the amusement park Beach Park and Kilimanjaro (49 meters) within Águas Quentes Country Club, are found in Brazil and are the tallest waterslides in the world.
An amusement park in Kansas City, U.S.A., wants to exceed the record.
Verrückt (“crazy” in German), whose name is inspired by Insano, the former world record holder until 2005, will be the tallest waterslide in the world, according to Schlitterbahn, the producing company. The final height will not be revealed until April, but if it will beat the record set by Kilimanjaro, it will have to measure at least 50 meters in height, as an 18-storey tower.
The waterslide will have 264 steps to climb to the top and will be covered with a safety net to avoid accidents. The amusement park will be surrounded by an artificial river of over 1.5 km, so the visitors can get to any place without getting out of the water. The flow of the river will be provided by two pumps, which provide more than 300 cubic meters of water per minute.
