Tactus Technology Designs a Virtual Keyboard that Pops Off the Screen

After three years of research, the Tactus Technology developers have managed to put in place the first commercial version of the virtual keyboard with buttons that pop up from the screen, a technology that promises to revolutionize the way we perceive the interaction with mobile phones, tablets and other touch-screen displays.

Tactus Technology Designs a Virtual Keyboard that Pops Off the Screen

Originally presented at a conference in Boston in 2012, the technology invented by Tactus Technology, based on Haptic Responses & Elastic Screen Interfaces, allows the user to access the buttons on the screen much easier, given that they pop up from the screen. Thus, the tactile experience, say the inventors, will be much easier.  The first gadgets with this type of keyboard will hit the market in 2015, with the launch of the new tablets and phones with flexible OLED screens.
