Old Public Bus Turned Into An Affordable and Luxurious Living Space
Because the housing access is a big issue in Israel, two women decided that they can do something about it, and instead of letting a decommissioned public bus end up gathering rust, they converted it into an extremely affordable and luxurious living space for those who desperately need a place to live.
Tali Shaul, a psychotherapist, and Hagit Morevski, an ecological pond water treatment specialist, asked for the help of friend and designer Vered Sofer Drori, and after they bought the old public transportation bus, they gave the home a more original feel. They adapted their design ideas to fit around the existing windows, doors and interior wheel arches, thus preserving the bus’ unique character. They integrated a bathroom, rear bedroom, storage throughout, a kitchen and air-conditioning.
