India’s Mihir Garh – World’s Most Extraordinary Hotel
Mihir Garh Hotel near Jodhpur, India, was named “world’s most extraordinary hotel” by guidebook publisher Lonely Planet in 2014.
The isolated hotel was built in such way to resemble a sand castle and it features nine spacious and lush apartment that reflect the fantastic architectural traditions of Rajasthan.
All the elements of this hotel are custom made, including the fireplaces, which were built of clay and cow dung. The construction of Mihir Garh took two years, and was needed 150 workers to complete it.
Mihir Garh means, in translation, “The Fort of the Sun” and the owner, Rashmi Singh along with her husband have personally dealt with designing the rooms.
The room prices at Mihir Garh hotel start at $275 per night and reach $540.
