This is something that you’ve never seen before. It’s like a scene from a fantasy movie that consists in the fact that a dilapidated room ripped out from a construction is actually suspended in mid air above Nantes, France. Its walls are revealing the bricks below the plaster and the wood floors are showing the beams. The floating room can be accessed via a ladder.
This amazing installation was created by the Argentinean artist Leandro Erlich, under the name of “Monte-meubles – L’ultime déménagement”, meaning “The Furniture Lift – The Ultimate Moving Out”. The piece was specially created for the biannual Le Voyage a Nantes, an art festival that transforms Nantes into an art gallery.
It seems that the ladder is the only thing that supports the sculpture because the room appears to float on its own. It’s simply amazing!
