Creole Barbeque Shrimp Recipe (USA)
Spice up your dinner plans with this delicious recipe: spicy sautéed shrimp. In New Orleans, the word “barbeque” does not refer to the fact that these shrimps are prepared on the grill. The dish is made with sautéed garlic, spices and butter, plus beer for extra flavor.
Ingredients for about 4-6 servings:
2 teaspoons of Cajun-Creole spices
6 tablespoons of butter
6-8 cloves of garlic
Juice from half a lemon’
Method of preparation:
Wash the shrimps and then mix them in a bowl with spices.
Heat the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and stir everything for a minute, or until it acquires a brownish shade.
Add the shrimps and make a sauté, shaking the pan more than stirring, until they turn pink on all sides. Depending on their size, the process can take between 2 and 4 minutes.
Add the beer, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce and mix again for another 2 to 3 minutes.
Place the shrimps on a plate. Boil the sauce a little more and then pour it over the shrimps. Serve immediately with toast and… many napkins.
