Apple Spaceship Caught on Film by Flying Drone
Apple’s new headquarters begins to become reality. At Cupertino (California) began the works on the construction of the giant building, within which 12,000 people will work and which will cost $5 billion.
A YouTube user, jmcminn managed to film and to upload the first images with the future campus of the company.
Filmed with a GoPro Hero 3+ camera, installed on a Phantom 2 drone, the images show the stage of the works.
The foundation of the giant building already outlines the shapes of the spaceship that will be the new Apple headquarters.
The building will cover an area of almost 60 hectares. The architectural design of the campus will resemble a huge ring inside which will be a park with many trees and greenery.
In the park that will surround the building will be planted about 6,000 trees from 300 different species.
The building will have four glass floors with an area of 260,000 square meters, the roof featuring solar panels comprising 65,000 square meters.
Apple Spaceship was one of the last wishes of the company co-founder Steve Jobs, who approved the new headquarters project before he died.
The Apple project is expected to be completed in 2015-2016.
